Lauren Myracle was born in 1969, in Brevard, North Carolina (Biography, n.d.). She states that her childhood was impacted by the divorce of her parents. She split her time in a rural setting in North Carolina, and a privileged private school in Atlanta. This split nature can be seen in the different types of books she writes (Lee, 2011).
Myracle completed her undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and English, at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Additionally, she holds two graduate degrees- a Master of Arts in English from Colorado State University, and a Master of Fine Arts in writing from Vermont College (Biography, n.d.).
Myracle lives in Fort Collins, Colorado, with her husband and children (Corbett, 2011). Her hobbies include playing with her kids, going on walks, watching movies, and (unsurprisingly) reading (Biography, n.d.).
